Julie moved to Jacksonville and joined Swindell, Bohn, Durden & Phillips, PL in August 2018 as our Tax Manager. Her responsibilities include the preparation and review of tax returns, tax planning, tax research, as well as assisting the accounting and auditing department with compilations, reviews, and audits.
Julie has a diverse tax and audit background, ranging from corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, not-for-profit organizations, and individuals to compilations, reviews and audits. Her client experience varies as well, including industries such as agriculture, construction, gas stations, medical offices, rental real estate and not-for-profit organizations.
In the first nine years of her career, Julie worked in the private accounting sector in Ohio before transitioning to public accounting in 2003 when she moved to Arizona. After twelve years, Julie moved to Texas working at a firm there for three years.
Julie attended Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky completing a double major to earn two bachelor’s degrees: one in accounting and one in business administration.
Julie has her CPA license in Arizona, Florida, Indiana, and Texas. She is a member of the AICPA and of the Texas Society of CPAs.
Outside of the office, Julie enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, going to the gym or for a run, and volunteering to help animals.
